Giovanna Palermo's Biosketch

gioGiovanna Palermo was born in 1985. She recieved the Master Degree in Electronic Engineering and the Ph.D. in Science and Technology of Mesophases and Molecular Materials from University of Calabria, in 2012 and 2015, respectively. She is currently an Assistant Professor at the Nanolase Lab in the Department of Physics of Unical (RTD-A).  The main research activity is focused in the Thermoplasmonics field that is based on the possibility to use metallic Nanoparticles (NPs) to generate heat at the nanoscale. She is also involved in other topics concerning the design and fabrication of hyperbolic and chiral metamaterials usable to realize high sensitivity bio-sensors
